Carbonia Investments was founded in 2018 with the aim of offering innovative equity and financing alternatives to companies and financial institutions.
Since 2018, Carbonia has become a leading company both in Spain and Europe across the multiple sectors in which it operates, and is currently one of the forerunners in the national and international markets.
The combination of innovative products, services and structures designed to provide solvency, coverage and financing to its clients, together with a unique multidisciplinary team, has made Carbonia a market leader.
Our history
A distinctive model
Acquisition of litigation portfolios
The group’s early operations focused on the financing and acquisition of litigation portfolios, making it the first European company to complete the acquisition of large portfolios from Ibex-listed companies.
Innovative structure
Since then, Carbonia has expanded its investment scope by offering a broader portfolio of services without losing sight of what have always been its defining features in the market: the structuring of innovative transactions, providing, together with its co-investors, the necessary resources for their implementation.
Since 2018, we have advised on the sale and purchase of several litigation portfolios from leading IBEX companies with a face value in excess of two and a half billion euros.
Fortress, strategic partner
In 2023, Fortress acquired a 20% stake in Carbonia Investments, thereby becoming its key partner for channelling, on a non-exclusive basis, the US group’s investments in Spain.
